Laurie Marie Wilson
December 14 1971 - November 8 2007

This online memorial is a work in progress to honor the life and memory of my lovely, talented, smart, funny, honest, sweet, beautiful, hardworking, and loving daughter, Laurie Marie Wilson. We wll remember her forever. Look at the pix on the next page. Laurie was certainly not camery shy, and you will get an idea of how very special she was. And please sign her guest book to let us know you came to visit. (Just your name is fine, if you don't want to make a comment.)

She was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, friend, teammate, teacher and coach. Whether you knew her as Laurie, Wils, Miss Wilson or Coach Wilson, she was a vibrant, funny, caring and compassionate person. Her spirit and energy left an impression on every person she met. Her smile and sense of humor always lit up a room. She will be missed by many.

This is what Laurie wrote on her Classmates.com site: I am still teaching middle school math and loving it! The kids are nuts some days, but it keeps me on my toes and makes each day an adventure. Softball is still a big part of my life, as I coach at the high school varsity level and play in a women's league in the summer. I do clinics in the winter and also coach a summer travel team. I'm also coaching middle school basketball and playing in a winter recreation league on Sundays. Getting older sucks, but I'm still hitting the sports hard as long as my body will allow me to! :) I also earned my master's degree in education in December of 2003. Life is good!!

To the living, I am gone;

To the sorrowful, I will never return;

To the angry, I was cheated;

but to the happy, I am at peace,

and to the faithful I have never left.

I cannot speak, but I can listen;

I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.

So, as you stand upon a shore

gazing at the

beautiful sea,

remember me.

As you look in awe at a mighty

forest and feel its grand majesty,

remember me.

Remember me in your heart,

your thoughts, and memories of

the times we cried,

the times we fought,

the times we laughed,

the times we loved.

For if you always think of me,

I will never be gone from your side.

-Author Unknown-

Remember me with a smile and laughter...

and if you need to cry...

cry for your brother and sister who walk in grief beside you.

And when you need me...

put your arms around anyone...

and give to them, what you need to give to me.

I want to leave you something...

something better than words or sounds...

Look for me in the people I have known or loved, or helped in some special way...

Let me live in your eyes, as well as in your mind.

You can love me most,

by letting love live within the circle of your arms, embracing the frightened and sad ones...

Love doesn't die...

people do.

So, when all that is left of me is love, give me away as best you can...

I'll see you at home...

where I will be waiting.

-Author Unknown-

I thought of you with love today,

But that is nothing new.

I thought about you yesteday,

And days before that too.

I think of you in silence.

But I often speak your name.

Now all I have is memories,

And your picture in a frame.

Your memory is my keepsake,

With which I'll never part.

God has you in his keeping.

I have you in my heart.

The mention of my childís name may bring tears to my eyes, but it never fails to bring music to my ears. If you really are my friend, please, donít keep me from hearing the beautiful music. It soothes my broken heart and fills my soul with love.

-Nancy Williams-

Somebody misses your smile,

the hugs and the kisses you share,

the warmth in your heart,

the love in your eyes,

the way that you listen and care.

Somebody misses your laughter,

reassuring and kind and sincere,

the touch of your hand,

the sound of your voice,

the comfort of knowing you're near.

Somebody misses the magic

of the wonderful things that you do,

the secrets you hold,

the dreams you reveal,

the way you make wishes come true.

Somebody waits for tomorrow,

another day closer to when

the hoping is ended,

the wishing is over,

and somebody holds you again.

-Emily Matthews-

Today, I cried, because you died.

Today, I smiled for just awhile.

Today, I laughed, and then I gasped.

Today, I cried, because I laughed.
